So does these recent races give you some more confidence that you can do alot better than a 3:30 marathon? I think a sub-3 is in you cards if you race smart. Are you doing St. George this year?

I am not doing St. George. I really wish I was now, but it happens at a bad time for me as far as work/school goes. I am doing the Mid-Mountain next Saturday. It brings in a lot different elements than any other race I've done. My confidence is higher than ever though. I never thought I would be able to run as fast as I've been running, and I know I can improve a lot. However, I think I have serious mental issues with the marathon. I hit those upper miles and my mind starts playing games with me. I'm assuming that by training better I could overcome this, right? This is one reason I love reading your blog, Sasha's, Michelle's, and all the other elite runners on the blog. Hopefully I will be able to learn from what you are all doing. I will take your advice any time though.

The end of a marathon is though and you have to mentally prepare yourself for that. And sometimes you aver come it and sometimes you don't. But I think you are going to do great things in the marathon in the future. Just take this next marathon as a fun one, you already have done great halfs this year. This is a tough marathon anyway, not a pr course, so just have fun with it. Good luck and I can't wait to hear about it.
